My Toshiba Satellite L875D_S7332
Will not turn on. The power light is on and I hear the fan. I was even able to open the CD drive. I have tried taking out the battery and unplugging and holding the power button down for 30 seconds, and that did not work.

Please help!!!!!

Solution
If you can hear a fan running it actually may well be on, just nothing on the display. If that is the case, try this...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may...

Geeerrrr, this is so upsetting, I hooked up an external monitor and it didn't work. The lights go on, the fan turns on even the DVD door opens and closes.

I even tried a different power cord.
Not sure what to do now.

Can't really take it to someone.
Thank you webworkings I appreciate your advice

I think your right, it's the graphics card/GPU or whole motherboard.
Unfortunately the laptop is 3 1/2 years old so it is past the warranty.

I've been watching YouTube videos and I may attempt this on my own.
I have replaced a cracked screen for my mom a few years ago.

But this may be way over my head.
webworkings do you have any suggestions as to the best place to get parts if I decide to give this a try?
