Recently my laptop will stop working and almost all programs i open just say not responding when i try to click anything.

My HDD is also having issues where it stops functioning after a short period of time. Any programs on the device stop working and it disappears from My PC and disk management but still appears in the BIOS.

The problem with my HDD was fine before because my windows and chrome are on my SSD which is working fine but now nothing works right.

Idk what to do, I can take it to a pc repair shop if need be.

Lenovo ideapad y700

I would suggest you install some temp monitoring software to see if it is overheating, which it sounds like it may well be. Me I like "Speedfan" but there are many others out there.

If it shows high temps, and your computer is no longer under any warranty, then I would suggest you carefully open it up and clean out all dust and debris. That might be all it takes to get things to cool down. Should that not work, then you will have to consider changing out the thermal paste, or even possibly the fans, before something gets fried.
