It's an LG 65uh 6030. The receiver is a jvc model DS TP100. It only has rca Jacks on it. I bought the optical cable to hook to the tv. And a converter. To go from digital to analog. Can't find ports on receiver that makes the sound come thru. I need the extra volume when streaming movies from netflix. Etc.

You may have to turn the optical output on, the TV speakers off and change the audio output type depending on the converter you got. Check the TV manual. Some TVs don't send audio from smart apps out of the TV so try it with another source at first.
Any audio input on the JVC should be fine. No info online about that so can't be more specific.
