hello all,

Recently i got a samsung laptop from an old buddy and he gave it to me because it was so dusty inside that the laptop would turn off after half an hour cause of the heat.
i disassembled the whole laptop and made it completely dust free, and placed some vaseline on the fan pin and that fixed the fan cause it almost didnt spin anymore.
so after that i placed all the parts back and started the laptop and right after i started the laptop, the fan is always on 100% untill you shutdown the laptop.
is there any way to fix that?
i tried notebook fan control program, but there is no samsung laptop support in it and i dont know how to make it support this samsung laptop since there is a way in that program to create a model support.
i tried to find a bios update but i cant find anything for this laptop.
laptop: samsung np-r710 (u2e1)

kind regards,

Wim.

Well, first I would install some temp monitoring software to make sure that it isn't still over heating. If it is, that would make the fan work more.

It also could be due to the fan going. If that is the case, then you would need to replace the fan and the thermal paste. And I have to say, if your friend let it get really bad dust wise, it probably did lead to the fan going due to the constant running. You are lucky nothing got fried in it.

well the air that comes out of the laptop fan is cold and i made a screenshot of speedfan where you can see that the temperatures are very low. as i said, i made it completely dust free and even fixed the fan by cleaning all the dust out of it and did put in vaseline to make it turn normal again.
i did replace the thermal paste on all 3 chips since i had to make the fan dust free anyway.
its lucky indeed that nothing got fried since there was alot of dust.
