Portable lightweight video editing laptop ?! please help

Looking for a Fast Budget Laptop thats travel friendly, for photo/video editing and a external hard drive in case i need more memory which i will especially with such a low budget


1. What is your budget? 400-550 ish

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 15" ish decent viewing size

3. What screen resolution do you want? a resolution good for video/photo editing

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable travel friendly not to bulky

5. How much battery life do you need? shouldn't matter too much but maybe 4-5 hrs

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? not relevant

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) Photo/Video editing mainly and surfing the Net

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? I don't know what would be good might get an external hard drive aswell, best recommendations ?

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?least 3-5 years i take care of my items

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? I don't even think i need one really

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. ones that are reliable and fit into my needs

So i would like it to fit into all i've stated, but if the Memory isn't as much, i've heard i can get an external hard drive, to store more memory if need be, if so can you list some aswell

Any laptop can render a video.

What changes is the quality and time required.

I would recommend the HP however, don't expect anything spectacular.


In terms of the HDD I would recommend the Western Digital (WD) Drive. I've had great experiences with them.
