I wanted to know if lenovo ideapad 110 with 6th gen i3(6006u) with integrated graphics and pretty much no upgradability is better than lenovo g5080 with i3 5th gen(5005u), upgradability and 2 gb amd radeon r5 graphics is better?I will mainly use it for university projects like machine learning and other programming projects.

They are not much different in term of speed. Its all depending on the pricing. If its $20 or less difference, you should get the newer cpu. If not then the 5th gen still ok. R5 gpu should help in performance than integrated gpu, but also not an important factor.

You should upgrade the ram into at least 4Gb straight away. 2Gb ram no longer efficient in the long run.

Consider buying SSD, any cheap one will do. It will safe your time and battery a lot. Since its a mobile unit, you should get at least 480Gb. When new, the dealer should willing to help migrating the window into SSD.

Good luck.
