My asus x553m will not connect to the wifi. Which function key turns that on/off. I checked everything else. It quit working when my baby hit my keyboard.

Below seems to be the layout of your keyboard.
Hold down the "fn" key (lower left corner), then press the F2 key which has a symbol of an antenna and radio waves. That should solve your problem.

The only other variant of the keyboard for the Asus X553m is the eastern european version which has an icon of an airplane instead of the the antenna which serves the same function to turn on / off the WiFi.
