Hey, I have a Lenovo Ideapad Z580 and W10 on it..when i plug my charger in it starts to charge but somtimes for only a few sec..sometimes more..if I'm lucky...when its off it charges perfectly but as soon i turn it on it stops with charging...and than i need to unplug it and plug it again...even if i get more time with it...when i turn some software (for example AutoCAD) it stops with charging...and than unpluging doesn help..i need to shut autocad and than unplug it and plug it again...and it'll maybe charge again...I tried everything from recalibrating a battery from reinstaling driver for battery...i don't know if its a hardware issue or software....i even try to reinstall windows but i cant..it shows me some error..and i can't update bios because it needs to be on charer all the time, what's impossible...if anyone can help me it would solve a problem that bothers me for months...:)

Sounds like the charger may be going. A sign of that is not charging, or only randomly, when the device is on. Yet it will charge just fine when the device is turned off.

If you know someone with a similar device, or charger that has the same specs as yours, you can try it on your device to see if it works fine when on. However, in the end, I think you are going to need a new one.
