Hi, I am currently using an Asus laptop with I5-6300HQ, and GTX 960M card. I recently invested in a 4K for the living room but noticed this laptop doesn't perform very well when HDMI connected to the TV. Games a locked at 30FPS so it's quite laggy.

As I know nothing about external graphics card set ups, what do I need to get my laptop capable of 60FPS on a 4K TV in terms of an external graphics card set up? What do I need for the set up?

Much appreciated for the advice.

I'm not sure if you can get an external graphics cards for laptops? and even if you can, there is no way it would be 4K. Generally, no laptop is really fit for 4K, and can over-heat the laptop (Keep in mind, this is from reading off internet coming from a Hp Pavillion from 2009).. Generally, I think an actual desktop would be less dangerous.
