How to know whether adapter is working or not

I am trying to start my laptop after almost 6months, it's not getting started and even the charging indicator is not glowing.

hang-the-9
Remove the wall power and battery, hold in the power button for about 30 seconds. Do not plug the battery back in, just wall power, see if it turns on. If no, then try with the battery and wall power. If that does not work, see if you can find a second known good charger to try. If that also does not work, maybe the motherboard is bad.
