Fitting a wireless sound bar to tv

Have purchased a new LG 2.1 channel wireless Sound Bar. Only means to connect to my tv is via
optical connector which my TV does not have. How can I add an external
optical socket to my tv? My sound Bar does not seem to have any red and white RCA sockets which I could have used.

You can get converters but they come with problems, usually they add a delay and with video a fraction of a second delay in audio produces very annoying lip sync issues.

I'd say take the sound bar back and get one with the connectors you have available.

You can't add an optical audio output to your TV. If the TV has a headphone or stereo audio output you can get a converter like this one

or you can connect a bluetooth transmitter to the TV and pair the soundbar to it.
