I have a Xbox one and have been trying to find a way to connect the audio to my speakers. I found a wire used for chromecast and just tried to use them and couldn't figure out why no sound was comming out. I realized that I bought a optical to mini toslink instead of a optical to 3.5mm. Is there something that will convert the mini toshlink to the 3.5mm jack or another wire that connects the 3.5mm straight to the optical? Thanks for any replies!

Solution
You need a digital to analog converter to go from optical toslink to 3.5.

Are you displaying on a TV or monitor with audio out port? Or is display to a basic monitor?

What are these speakers, do they have a power plug that you have to plug into the wall? If not then they have no amplification and your optical connection will not push enough watts to power them.
