Hi, I'm an audio n00b that got a pair of Gale Gold Monitor MK2 bookshelf speakers as a gift (http://www.gale.co.uk/goldmonitors.html). They are bi-wired and I am wondering what the cheapest solution to have an aux and 4k TV input would be. I basically want to use the speakers to connect to a new 4k smart TV that would play TV but also music. AND an aux so I could connect the speakers to my phone or an airport express for wireless playback.

Would something like this work? https://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PFA300-90-Watt-Amplifier-Adapter/dp/B0071HZ5LE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1490160313&sr=1-1&keywords=stereo+amplifier+90w

Or are these small cheaper amps only for car stereos? I'm looking for a cheap solution only because if it's going to cost a lot to set these up, I would rather use that money towards a modern sound bar (aka bluetooth, theater sound, etc.) rather than trying to make these speakers work, which may not sound good for TV).

Thanks for all the help!!

Hi, 4K A/V receivers on a tight budget is gonna be difficult, but a decent affordable A/V amp which would do you fine, is something like the ONKYO
TXSR252 Even though this is a 5.1 surround sound amp, it will work in 2 channel stereo mode. It has 4 HDMI inputs (+1 output for the feed to your TV) And this is kind of the closest to 4k you will acheive with these speakers, on a budget. It also has auxiliary's that will enable you to hook up some analogue inputs. That amp you were looking at IS a car amp, and although you could get it to work, it would not give you a very good sound.

I hope this helps in some way!
