PC worked fine before restart - Boots but no display - 6 short bios beeps

Asus z97 e mobo
Gtx 690 gpu
I7 4790k
Thermaltake gold standard 850w psu
Etc. I don't understabd why its not working now. I took it to the computer shop and the dude told me to make a bootable bioa drive and see if that worked. It didn't. :( It was all working just fine. I tried removing cmos battery, reseating my ram and power cords... im not sure what else to do. Thanks for the help in advance.

Also I didnt see a thread topic for pcs? Just for laptops... so yeah

This will only help if the computer is actually turning on, but the display isn't coming up.

Try this...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.

Well, I have a PC not a laptop. Desktop I built myself a while ago. I couldn't find the category for PCs when I posted this so I just put it under laptops. No display works. I've tried hdmi vga on both my previously working monitors.

and as far as removing gpu and trying on board, it still won't work :/ I tried that as well. :( On my manual the 6 short beeps aren't a thing... That is another thing thats so confusing. In the manual it only talks about 1 2 3 and 4 short beeps when I'm CERTAIN mine are 6 and all short. This whole situation baffles me. :/

You may have a keyboard controller fault the keyboard controller is part of your motherboard then again you may be lucky it maybe a faulty keyboard itself. 6 short beeps relates to keyboard failing to boot. Had it on a few desktops i looked at.

Although I know six beeps is known to be a keyboard controller issue of old, newer motherboard may still carry same trends as older ones but no longer listing it in there beeb codes,
One more thing you could try you listed above you removed the CMOS battery I take it you put the same one back, i work with fruit machines PC's as well they will not boot up with a dead CMOS battery, we moved a desktop pc to the front of entrance from a back room it would not start up after moving as we carry spare battery's the CMOS battery was replaced and success.desktop back in action.
