Samsung TV to Klipsch Sound Bar

Need to connect Samsung TV (only two HDMI outputs, one is for DISH network - the Hopper is not close to the TV) to a Klipsch Soundbar (inputs optical and AV). I would connect optical to Hopper but the box is not close enough. I am thinking I need a converter (HDMI to AV). I tried this one but it did NOT work: https

I doubt your TV has HDMI outputs, listing the models of both devices may help sort out what connections you need.

Thanks for trying but links to multiple pictures of maybe different TV and soundbars is not helpful.
That converter as you already realize is useless in the situation. Inputs and outputs are not interchangeable. A TV with only two HDMI inputs probably doesn't have ARC.
If your TV has audio out the most common is optical audio which can be converted to analog with a converter that would connect to an analog aux input on the soundbar.
You could also use an HDMI input selector with audio extraction to do that for external sources. It won't help with the TV tuner or smart functions.
