I'd like some help identifying a cable: what it's for and what to call it !

I'm putting this in Home Audio because of the phono type connectors; might be a computer cable because of the connector at the other end. (so please move it to a more appropriate subject group if necessary, or it might get an answer - I live in hope ! because I haven't a clue)

Let me describe it:

One end (1) is a 15 pin D type connector, with the pins arranged in two rows (of 7 and 8 pins).
The other end comprises two phono sockets (female), one coloured red the other blue.

Photos can be provided if needed (and I can get my camera working and find the lead for that etc etc)

The connectors are pretty standard, it's the mix which is difficult

Looks like a cable for connecting some kind of computer equipment or peripheral to stereo sound. ? Might be for connecting devices of which I have no experience.

Doh!

It could only be video with VGA or DVI.

except you didn't read the part where they said 2 rows of pins of pins 8 and 7. That's not VGA.
