Hi, I am thinking about getting a small convertible laptop (about 13 in or smaller, that can be converted into tablet mode by flipping it over, detaching the screen etc..). I am ok with getting a tablet too if it fits my description.

The most intensive thing that I will be doing is just playing some online flash game so I really do not need much. And I do not need optical drives, smart card readers or things like that, just usb 3.0 is enough. However, when it comes time to upgrade or repair it, I hope there is a model that is comparatively "easier" to be done than the others.

I know this kind of device is not meant to be tampered with by the end users. But maybe there is one that is well-known enough so I can get more help online, and have more parts that are inexpensive and easier to obtain?

From what I learned in this forum, the motherboard (and so the CPU and GPU) and the screen are the most difficult to replace if need be, but maybe they are more possible to swap out in some devices than the others?

I heard that the thinkpad may fit my description. I only know of either x220 or x230 models. Can anyone second on this or have other suggestions for me?

Many thanks for reading this. I don't know, I just think it is good for the brain to attempt to fix things even if I will fail.

The ThinkPad X2xx series are not convertibles. If the word "Yoga" is not part of the model name, then it is not convertible.

On the other hand the ThinkPad Yoga will give you access to the internals. But it is not cheap since the least expensive model generally starts at about $1,000.
