Okay so my toshiba satellite (don't know the numbers or anything) just had the left shift key act as though it was permanently held down so I restarted my computer and now only the space bar and the M key work on both keyboards and the M key has been switched to enter. I can't even type my password to log on so am I just screwed? Please help. I use an external keyboards through USB and neither are working

Solution
Try this...

1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should reinstall the driver on its own.

If this doesn't work, you may wish to try connecting an external keyboard and see if it works fine. If it does, then it could be the keys themselves that are the issue.
