Hi guys,

Just about to purchase this laptop. My intentions for it is for university primarily and gaming (I don't own a desktop and don't intend to build one anytime soon). I'm just curious if this mdoelwill be able to run programs such as CAD, Photoshop, etc.

These are the specs my particular model has:

Intel Core i7-7700HQ,
16GB RAM,
128GB SSD + 1TB HDD,
GTX 1050Ti 4GB Graphics

Will it be sufficient for those programs listed above?

Thanks

It can game just fine and cad will run smooth just try not to render anything to large. And Photoshop runs on just about any computer so no issues there. Its a well set machine I would go for it just because of the dedicated graphics for gaming and 16gigs of ram for cad. Its more than fit for the job.

The performance is good. However a few things about the display:

Make sure it's a version with the IPS display. The fourth model on the Dell site in the USA with these specs has it. The Best Buy USA model with these specs and the Inspiron 7567 in virtually all non-USA countries is stuck with the poor TN display across the board. http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/productdetails/inspiron-15-7567-laptop/dncwf510s (currently discounted to $999)

The IPS display is a lot better than the poor TN panel (about this difference: http://imgur.com/Sajajqc.jpg ) but its color gamut is only like 45% NTSC / 55%-70% sRGB. If you want higher potential for color accuracy in Photoshop, and better color saturation in general, the Clevo N850 through Eluktronics (not Sager or Prostar, only Eluktronics) has a 72% NTSC / 82%-90% sRGB IPS display. https://www.amazon.com/Eluktronics-N850HK1-Premium-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B01N7YTLD0/

Finally, if you want, you can get an Inspiron with the poor TN display and replace it yourself with one slightly even better than the one in the Eluktronics.
