I have a Toshiba satellite laptop M35x-S149 running win xp pro. I install Windows XP Pro I noticed that it was missing a lot of the drivers the ethernet controller video controller Excetra.. I found and downloaded them with my flashdrive and they now seem to be working fine. I'm showing internet is connected, but I can't get on the internet. I've called Cox which is my internet provider they say they are showing that there is a signal and there's nothing they can do because it's running Windows XP. So if I'm showing I'm connected on my laptop there showing that there is access to it why am I unable to get online
I have checked the firewall, tried lan line tool repair, I've run a scan, it shows no problem, my modem has been reset, I also removed all wireless connections and installed them again, the lan is unchecked from internet tools. Also, I tried to use my cell as a hotspot and wouldn't connect that way either. My cell is able to use the Wi-Fi with no problem.
please help .. I don't know if there's some kind of driver that I seem to be missing that I can't find or what else I can try. I'm willing to try anything. If anybody else had this problem or knows how to fix it please help me out ,I'm at my wit's end thank you.

Hi, i had the same problem from my computer. Try opening CMD and type "ping 8.8.8.8 -t" this will show if you have a connection with your internet provider. if you cant see anything. try uninstalling your driver and downloading a driver manager instead.

I did the ping....this is what I got.
[92.242.140.2] with 32 bytes of data.
Request timed out
I'll have to go the library and download a driver mananger. Is there any one you recc?
Also what driver do I uninstall and do I still do that even though I have a number?
Please let me know my next step and thank you
