So, my father has a last-year model of a Samsung smart TV. For some reason, it evades Samsung how to design such a thing well, and the remote is absolutely stupid, particularly for my father with large hands and not-so-great vision.

Is there a decent (not expensive) smart TV remote that is compatible with Samsung?
99% of what my father watches is Netflix, but because the buttons are not very tactile and difficult to see on the remote, he has some trouble finding it without his glasses.

Basically, how can I fix Samsung's incompetence and get him a remote that works?

Does anyone have some suggested options if so?

You can get any universal remote that is compatible with a samsung TV as the codes have been the same for years.
However these models will not likley have buttons for samsung specific functions.

The easiest route to take for this is to get a logitech harmony style remote and program that with the buttons he needs.
This may fall outside of your category "not expensive" but this is the cheapest usable option.

I doubt this will be a good option, but you can get an app for android/ipohone to control samsung TV over wifi.

This particular remote is legitimately terrible though. Most of its functionality is through virtual displays on the TV (via an Air mouse). If not having numbers on a TV remote doesn't strike Samsung as absolutely dumbfounding, I don't know what will.

As for your second comment, I don't mean to be rude, but obviously I have googled such things. That's usually the first thing a person does. What I'm hoping to know is if anyone has any vetted experience with these and how well they work with Smart TVs.
