I found an affordable battery grip that can fit into Nikon D5100 , D5200 and D5300.

Link : http://www.everbuying.net/product1204743.html

I know that the D3200 and the D5200 bodies are the same so the same grips fit into those cameras. I asked the site and they told me it wont fit a D3200. Anyone that knows for sure that the bodies are the same (i need confirmation) and that this grip will fit into my D3200 body?

I have not tested that chinese grip on your camera model. I have used a similar one on a different nikon aps-c body and a nikon full-frame body (different grip, different brand) and compared them to the Nikon original grip. In the case of the DX body, I decided that the Nikon grip was too expensive and so I kept the chinese one, mostly because I bought it in a different country and so I could not return it. On the FX I bought the Nikon one. In both cases I ended up almost never using the grip.

The flexing issue is one I read about on a different forum. Several other uses posted about other quality control issues.

How long does the battery last in the d3200 when recording video? In still images (photos) it is better than most...
If it was compatible with a D3200 it would say so on the product page, and it doesn't say that.

The vendor has also told you it won't fit/work with a D3200, so that should be all the info you need. It would certainly be enough info for me to make an informed decision not to buy it.

Why not remove all doubt & look for one that specifically states it's compatible with a D3200?

Just type D3200 Battery Grip in to Google & away you go.

I have found official ones that fit on the D3200 but the cost is huge. Thats why i started looking at chinese ones. But the bodies are the same. Why wouldnt it fit? (You cant always trust the chinese)

Could be the tripod bush (which is used to secure the battery grip to the camera body) on the baseplate of the D3200 body is in a different position compared to the D5100, D5200 etc. That's the only reason I can come up with.

I would have thought that if the vendor tells you it won't fit then that would lose them potential sales of the product, not the sort of thing many vendors would do - many of them would be more inclined to lie in order to secure a transaction, not lose one.

if you've been looking at Nikon ones, you must know whether or not the genuine Nikon battery grip model is the same for both the D3200 & D5200. If they are not the same, that would apply to third-party grips too.

Many ( If not all ) Third-party grips work on both of those (+more). I am sure there is no other other key difference in the cameras so i guess this one will work too. At least i hope it does.

Why do you need a grip for an entry level camera? One of the few real advantages of the d3x00 series is how light and small they are. Adding a grip adds weight without improving the camera performance. It will allow easier shooting in portrait mode is all. Also these cheap chinese grips are very poorly made. They move once they are in position. Meaning while shooting your camera might suddenly reboot as the electrical connections flex off and then back on to where they should be.

Save your money towards a fancier camera like a d7200 or adding a nice little lens like a 35mm f/1.8g.

Thank you for Suggesting this wonderful lense. I have been looking at it in the past (cause of reasons) but the camera at the moment isnt used for something that brings in money so spending 200euros for a lense at this time is a no-no.Another camera is also a no-no since this one does its job perfectly. For the purpose this camera was bought, its awesome. The grip would mostly be used for the dual battery slot. When capturing videos,it lacks battery time so a battery grip is kinda necessary. + it saves you from finding the protective case, changing batteries, going back to place. Portrait mode pictures will also be way more easier cause you wont have to do like a "C" grip in order to reach the shutter button. At the grips price range, 20 euros (minus 10 cause they messed up a previous order so now i have a discount) i wouldnt expect something better. The least expensive NOT chinese one is at around 50 euros and that combined with the official EN-EL 14 battery sums up to around 100 euros. All that for a camera that doesnt bring in money? Bad idea.

Have you personally tested this chinese grip and you can confirm that the camera reboots cause of the connections flexing off?

How long does the battery last in the d3200 when recording video? In still images (photos) it is better than most other small DSLR cameras (540 shots). It can only record 29 minutes no matter how large the battery is, only a panasonic GH can record longer.
I use a Panasonic GH3 for fancier video and a Sony rx10 for casual video. The Sony also can only record 29minutes at a time. So if I forget to stop it before then, I have to hit the record button again. I use these required stops in recording to swap out batteries when needed. Typically 2 batteries will record a football match.

Yes. Dead on. Thats the average amount of pictures it takes per charge. I havent actually tested it for that long in video. I mostly take pictures and when i need to play with focus i use the D3200 cause my Coolpix L830 doesnt allow me to change focus points. But from changing from video to pictures again the battery goes down dramatically. I would appreciate it so much if you could fine someone that has this exact grip. I have asked and looked everywhere and i cant seem to find anyone with the exact grip. And since i can get the grip for 10 euros (discount of 10 for reasons) i think it is a good deal.

Solution has been found from talking with another seller. The Grip in not compatible due to software. The camera will not recognise the grip and the batteries for some reason. Tested. Thank you everone. bjornl's reply will be selected as Solution cause he was the only one who spent some time on trying to give me an answer. Cheers.
