Since yesterday I've been experiencing code S0a00 on two of my Xfinity DVR boxes(legacy), code isn't on every channel just a few HD channels. Had a Comcast tech(contracted tech) come today and he said all the lines and signals are good but replaced some connectors. I'm no longer seeing the code on the one box, but the channels that displayed the code are intermediately distorted with patches of green and sound cutting out, the other box was fine for a while than the code started appearing when changing channel, but would go away after a minuet of the channel being on, and now the code doesn't go away at all.

Checked signal strength at the box, SNR for tuner 1 was between poor and fair and tuner 2 was good. Now SNR is between good and fair for tuner 1 and error code is gone and the image isn't distorted.

I have 3 cable boxes and two splitters, one is a three way splitter connected to the main line from the telephone poll and the other is a two way splitter that connects to a box and cable modem. Just checked and getting the code again on the one box but the other box that had the distorted picture seems to be working fine still.

Yes it is, but to roll out the splitter, I removed the splitter and connected the DVR directly and still the same problem. I went into the DVR's diagnostic(pressing power than OK) and checked Inband Status for the channels with the code and signal to tuner 2 seems to be OK but tuner 1 the SNR keeps switching between N/A and 00.0 db Invalid. I don't think tuner one could be going bad as I've tried the DVR in another room and it worked fine with no error codes.

Not sure as it was installed by Comcast. Will check tomorrow since it's night time and the 3 way splitter is out side. I have another tech coming tomorrow, I'm gonna put my DVR in diagnostic mode and show him the Inbound/SNR readings so he can't claim the signal is perfect like the last tech. The channels with the error code are HD channels in the 850-950 and are the same exact channels that where distorted on another box. Another thing my modem is on the came coaxial cable as the DVR with the codes and it's working perfect as I'm getting a solid 240Mbps download and 12Mbps upload.

Thought all was good till I checked my scheduled recordings this morning, and noticed something really strange, they all said "To Be Announced" and listed the channel as 25962 or 10935. Really strange as my highest channel number is 1994.
