how can i connect my Sony Bravia LCD Digital TV circa 2010 with my Yamaha NX-GX70 speakers circa 2000?

I'be been checking into speaker wire and RCA but I don't know if I need a connector, adapter or what. I'm looking for a simple way of doing this. I don't even know if it can work. The speakers are connected to the Yamaha GX70 and the Yamaha has been connected to my TV for years...but I'd like to downsize and have the TV and speakers work together. Any helpful suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Without the model number of the TV I can't give you an exact answer.
The main unit of the mini system has an amp that the speakers require so you can't bypass that and connect the speakers directly to the TV unless it has speaker terminals. Some older TVs did have small amps built in. Those would have speaker terminals for bare wire. If the speakers have a connector at the end of their wires then you could cut that connector off and expose the 2 bare wires that would connect to the TV speaker terminals. I would suggest you leave enough wire on the connectors in case you wanted to splice them back on.

I don't think you can readily do this. I suspect those speakers are not powered, meaning they require an amplifier, which most TVs don't really have. Also, if you intend to do surround sound (5 speakers), you'll need a decoder. The GX70 is your amplifier, and decoder at the moment.
