I got a brand new pair of earbuds that work fine on my phone and PS4, but not on my computer. I have tried other headphones and they worked fine. I have used the earbuds on different computers and am encountering the same problem (quieter audio out of the left earbud). So, to clarify, the problem does not lie with my computer and the audio balance, as I've tried other headphones and they worked properly. I just don't understand how the earbuds could work in every device except for computers. Please help, I haven't encountered anyone else with a similar problem and I'm too stubborn to just go out and buy new ones.

Do the ear buds have a mic on them? The PS4 and phone probably work with a 4pole plug, meaning left, right, mic, ground, where as most headphones are left, right, ground. So if you're plugging a 4 pole into a 3 pole, like a PC, you will get the exact same results.

Thank you for responding. The earbuds do have a mic on them, but I have used the exact same type (Skullcandy Ink'd) before and they worked fine. Are you saying that if there is a deficiency with them, it may only be registering on computers? And is there a chance that my only solution will be to buy new ones?
