I plan on buying a cheap windows laptop (Asus E200HA or Ideapad 100s etc) for portability and on the go workflow.
But I'll need more storage on it.
Is it possible to add an SSD in it ?

And, any suggestions for a convertible/2in1 device that will provide pen or stylus support for basic note taking ? (Within 3-400$)

You basically have two options inserting a SD card and using a small USB thumb drive.

Be aware that depending on the model of the entry laptop you are looking to purchase the SD card may not be inserted all the in the slot. Sometimes they stick half way out which does not make SD cards a good "permanent" storage.

USB flash drives are pretty inexpensive and can be really small unless you are looking for one that is over 128GB. Below is an example. Naturally it will occupy one of the USB ports.
