Reciever won't pass PC signal through to tv

I am trying to use a small laptop as a home theater PC. I can get the PC to output HDMI straight to the computer. And when I connect instead to the dennon receiver, the PC recognizes that it is connected to it. It even knows it is a dennon receiver. But the dennon doesn't pass through the signal to the TV. Any ideas?

It will probably be the laptops resolution or framerate thats not compatible with the reciever.
I would reset the Denon to default as it will uscale and change any HDMI signal to suit the output
