Horizontal flickering lines appear all over the screen. When connected to external monitor through VGA, picture is displayed in the external monitor but not on the laptop screen. Sometimes when I update my graphics driver it usually gets fixed but this time it did not. I still don't know whether it is hardware or software problem.. Please someone help me with this. I have tried changing the display connector cable but no use.

This is how my laptop display is now.

That kinda weird, ok when you hook up the external monitor check what gpu it using if it still using nvidia gpu then it either can be the lcd screen or the header on the board if it using intel graphics then we know it the gpu. because we know it not the cable but it looks like a bad graphics card.
To tell what graphics card it using go to adjust resolution and click advance settings and it will tell you.

It runs Nvidia when connected to the external display. If that's graphic card problem how can it be fixed?

Even at the BIOS screen it has the same problem

Ok now we know it not a graphics issue. Now when you mean "I have tried changing the display connector cable but no use." Did you try to put a new one in already because I would do that second time and if you did already it either the lcd screen inverter board or something wrong with the connector on the motherboard. And to be honest if you switch the screen and the cable and still the same problem it not worth putting a new motherboard in it.

It worked well when replaced with a new LCD. But this LCD works well with other laptops.. :(
