Hi,
I have two speakers which came with a JVC audio unit. The JVC unit is broken and so I solderd the speaker wires to 3.5 mm jack to use it as external speaker for TV and other units. Issue is when I connect it with any source, example my phone, the volume of the phone has to be at full for aubile output to be heard from speaker. I have no knowledge of electronics so I am stuck. Request help from this forum.

Solution
No mate you can't do that , you heavily risk damaging the headphone outputs on the devices you're plugging it into by trying to draw too much power from them.

You need some form of amplification to run those speakers .

Thanks for help,
This the speaker spec. I have 2 of them and have soldered both to a 3.5 mm jack.
Impedance - 4 ohm
Power - 20 W.
What kind of amp should i buy. I searched on internet and found a lot of car amps, would it be any good?

where are you based ??
I bought a 12v mini 40w amp with bluetooth from ebay for about 20 uk pounds & it does a sterling job with a set of smallish speakers.

http://

- with one of these you need to also buy a 12v 5a minimum power adapter.
