Laptop becomes next to useless when unplugged,
when ever the cord gets unplugged from the laptop or the wall the laptop goes into pretty much death. It becomes next to impossible to use as nothing can be done without around 30 second delay, I changed the on battery settings to high performance but that does not seem to do anything. Even if I plug it back in after it still won't work properly, sometimes it gets unplugged when I'm working and I plug it back pretty quickly, it still goes into unusable state. The only way to fix this is restart it a few times and open programs and leave them open for a round 10 mins, untill it becomes usable. It's by no means low end and can handle anything I try to grow at it, from video editing to gaming on high settings but only goes to complete aids when it's unplugged. So I honestly don't know what to do because as soon as that cord goes out the only way to fix it is restarted

Solution
I have a feeling its the connection to the battery from the laptop. It is not distributing the power in the battery to the laptop properly. Did you check the voltages are right for the laptop while it is not plugged in.
