I'm relatively new to audio editing and tried the Ddclip freeware version for a while. It is great for what we would like to do at school. We can work with 10 different audio tracks and mix like if there's no tomorrow :) although with freeware limitations. So I contacted the manufacturers who turned out to be Russians, to buy a license and obtain the Pro version. They wrote back that they don't support Ddclip anymore and that I can use the freeware version for as long as I want. Bummer! They can't supply a copy of the Pro version, they can't sell me a license for the Pro version, and they stopped the project entirely. Does anyone has by any chance a copy of the Pro lying around that we could use? That would be so great!! ;-)

My recommendation is to look for another audio editing tool.

I know it is difficult to give up some favorite application especially if freeware - limitations aside.

Best to learn audio editing via some current application and not one that is obsolete. Who knows what some "copy" may do....

Check other similar products: Contact the manufacturers. They may be able to offer an educational version free or for some nominal cost. Or again, freeware but limited.

Your school and/or instructors might take the lead and make the contacts - more official and formal.

Companies know that people who have learned and trained on their products are very likely to favor and continue using that product after leaving school.

No harm in making...

That is exactly what our teacher said this morning ;-) We are now looking at several great NEW audio editing packages. It will work out!
Thank you for your reply!
