I sent in my GE62 a few weeks ago to get the HDD replaced. A few days after I had received it, it began producing a loud noise. I have never encountered this issue previously. As I am in school, I am afraid of bringing my laptop to class as it sounds similar to a jumbo jet taking off. Here is the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96Lbc_wlJK4. Is there anything I can do to repair this without having to send it back for repairs? Thanks.

It looks like your laptop also has a fan on the video card, and could also be the source of the fan noise. Check this link here-https://www.reddit.com/r/MSILaptops/comments/4nesn8/ge62_2qf_apache_pro_making_really_loud_obnoxious/
In response to your other questions, you would need to remove the bottom case section to access the fans. Here is a video of that process. If you haven't ever done anything like that it can be very intimidating, but if you can follow the...

The most likely source of the noise is the cooling/cpu fan. It sounds as though the bearing is failing, or something has been displaced and is in the way of the fan blades. It could very likely be the result of the work done to replace the hard drive you had done-a stray wire or cable not restrained properly for example. I would call whoever did the repair work and describe the issue, they should take care of it free of charge if responsible. Unless you are comfortable opening up your laptop yourself, it will need to be done y someone else. If you have an app to monitor the laptop's temperature, watch that to see if it is overheating due to the impaired fan function. If you feel comfortable tackling the problem yourself, you may find a video on YouTube detailing how to open the laptop case.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmPZqEQX9y4. It appears that the issue is fan related. Do you know what specific fan is making the noise in the video? Also, would I need to remove the warranty sticker and all of the screws on the bottom panel to access the fan? Thanks.

In response to your other questions, you would need to remove the bottom case section to access the fans. Here is a video of that process. If you haven't ever done anything like that it can be very intimidating, but if you can follow the instructions and work carefully and logically, it's not really scary or difficult. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRWC-6C0ubg. Good luck!

Try pressing Ctrl + 1! It was driiving me NUTS, when I realised it is the MSI profile you are in!

I press 'Ctrl + 3' all the time using Adobe Illustrator, to hide objects, but it also puts the laptop hilariously into 'Meeting' mode haha... Not that you could hear anybody at this meeting.

Press Ctrl + 1 for 'Performance' mode, and hey presto - silence!

PS - I have a GE73, but hope it helps your model too...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh.............
