.How do I get the sound from LG dvd player to my speakers? Previously i connected my Sony dvd player directly to my speakers using audio cables.
But now my new dvd player only has a HDMI cable outlet which works fine when connected to Sharp TV but I am unable to get audio from dvd player to speakers through audio cables from TV to speakers..

ou can connect your speaker's 3.5mm jack to the your DVD's stereo RCA jacks using a 3.5mm to RCA cable or adapter. This is how the cable or adapter will look like -

Need advice to connect 2.1 speakers to 5.1 channels of dvd player

There will not be any loss in sound quality if you use a good quality cable. Get some branded cable like Panasonic or some other good brand.

As for the DVD player, I don't think you can get a better player with USB + FM at this price point. Samsung has a DVD player at this price point but I think it only has FM and has no USB support.

Try exploring your TVs menus. Some of the newer ones require you to turn off the built in speakers to get audio from the audio out port. You may also find options that give volume control to the audio out port. I would disable these settings as sometimes changing volume introduces a buzzing or hissing sound.

This signals to me this DVD player is most likely one of those 1-box Home Theater thingy with a built-in amplifier for the speakers

But now my new dvd player only has a HDMI cable
This signals to me this is stand-alone DVD player with no amplifier.

If I ask if you have self-amplified speakers, how to you respond? 2.0? 5.1? how many speakers exactly?
