i'm a design student , so i use CAD software all the time , i like to play demanding video games , i need a laptop that is great for both, i thought of an alienware 17 or 15 with 4k display , but still can't choose what cpu should it include , a 7700hq is cheaper or a 6820hq that has more single core performance , i have a 2400 dollar budget , i can comprimise the gaming side if there's a xeon solution that is really perfect for my 3D design work. what should i buy ? thanks :D

Both of these are 2 different things. If 3d is important, then the thinkpad w series I think its called is good. For gaming you can order a good custom made desktop replacement like one of the sagers.
