Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition, VN75-92G, Main screen not working, but will project to external screen

I left the laptop folded down and powered on at the time while it idly downloaded files. When I came back and pulled the screen up I didn't see the screen but I did see a quick flash off the keyboard, and then nothing was showing on the screen. I thought it was just unresponsive, but it went to sleep as quick as before when I hit Fn+F4 (Sleep shortcut). So I connected the laptop to an external monitor, and it was working perfectly fine from wake up and power up, just not on the folding screen attached to the laptop.

My question is, is there anything I can do, or will I have to send it out for repairs?
I bought this about a month and a half ago.

It could be that the screen is just stuck to use the external display. If you navigate into your Graphics display control panel, and see if it can detect both your built-in display and also the external one. If it sees both, then you still should be able to switch between the two.

Try setting the desktop to extended display and this should then show both screens. If it appears that extended display is active, but you still cannot see the built-in display, then it could be that the LCD backlight inverter is faulty or the whole screen is gone - Both of which would require you to replace the LCD panel of the laptop. You can search for a replacement on ebay.

Thanks, I was hoping against that, but it seems to be the problem. It can detect the main laptop screen and even works as if it's there when set to extended display mode, but it's just sitting there all black and unlit unlike the external monitor I attached.
