Hi guys I have some wierd problem , I am trying to play games in 5.1 but I am getting stereo only , my connectivity of cables are described below

Gpu-----hdmi-----htib reciever----hdmi----tv

I have 2 HDMI slot in htib , one is in and other one is out , I had searched for 6 months the only promising thread I found was cheap htib does not support 5.1 but mine is not cheap one and in audio setting I have option to set digital output to these option - pcm stereo , pcm muti-ch , dts-encoder and bitstream , I have hdmi cables of cheap brand so I ordered HDMI cable V2.0 it will take 3 days to arrive until than can anybody help me out , my questions are below

1st - does really all htib in world are not capable of giving true 5.1 audio even if they have hdmi in and HDMI out slots ?

2nd - will I get true 5.1 from analog speaker set which have 3 pin for speaker in , which goes from motherboard Asus m5a97 on board sound ?

3rd - does htib is known as home theatre in the box , like it's not true av receiver ?

4th - what format of audio does pc games have ?

5th - does bad HDMI cables prevents 5.1 output ( which will be clear in 3 days by myself ) ?

PS - I had done almost everything to get 5.1 from games via AMD Rx 480 GPU but it didn't help and yet i am ready for another round currently I am using realtek unlocked drivers to play pc games in true 5.1 via motherboard----optical----htib optical slot .

Solution
well thanks to amazon returning policy i ditched z506 speakers and ordered logitech g430 gaming headset and the result is fantastic , better than 5.1 and 7.1 surround speaker setup , for those who wants to know my experience , below is almost detail review -

I am an audiophiles/audioholic so you can trust my below review with eyes closed , not literally eyes closed or you will not be able to read !!

CONS -

1 - slightly low volume for those whom having hearing issues , thank God I am not one of them but cons is cons right ?

2 - when wearing headset and wearing it off , sometimes it feels like it will break , I must say it is very delicate headset , so I must take care of it .

3 - ear cup sound isolation is not good .

PROS

1 - easy...

I sold that high end htib and buyer low end Logitech z506 and I can definitely say it is 10 times better than that htib crap , now I am getting 5.1 from onboard sound of m5a97 , and it's amazing .

PROS

1 - easy to setup and very user-friendly software GUI .

2 - extra long cable .

3 - comfortable and very lightweight .

4 - amazing 7.1 audio though it's virtual but I didn't hear anything like that before .

5 - super fast delivery and packaging was awesome , thanks Amazon .

So that's it than .

But I must say I was confused and couldn't believe how 2 stereo speakers can emulate virtual 7.1 so good , so I decided to go to setting and turn off volume for each individual speakers in software GUI , and test it one by one and it was amazing result, when I muted center speaker I didn't hear any sound from center so I continue my experiment with remaining speakers and results were perfect , it was very much true 7.1 effect , I must say I was confused with other products but they didn't provided Dolby surround and DTS -x both together so I decided to go with this product and it was very wise decision , thanks to all honest reviews , without them I wouldn't had buyed it .

Sorry i know my english suks .
