My touchpad device isn't listed on the device manager on my windows 10 os and it isn't working. But the usb mouse works fine. The same touch pad works when booted with Windows 7 but not with windows 10 please help. Please let e know how to fix the missing touch pad device in the device manager.

Yes I've already tried that.. but my problem is... my touch pad device isn't listed in the device manager and because of that, installing the driver is not helpful at all. Can you tell me how to get back my touch pad being listed again in the device manager. Please let me know

You must have "internal pointer device" ENABLED in BIOS, at least that was the issue in my case, not sure where exactly it is but it shouldn't be hard to find, hope it helps :)

I also encountered the same issue my tracking pad is not working, its not listed in device manager, i tried:

Pressing the FN+F (all the F1-12 keys) = Failed
Update the Tracking Pad Drivers even 3rd party software = Failed, error its unplugged
Checked for Virus = Failed, done a quick scan no virus (i did not do a full scan its time consuming)

Checked My Bios, the Bios is a new platform (not like the old school Bios) you can use the mouse cursor in the new Bios, and the tracking pad is working in the bios... so i change nothing in the bios went back to homepage...then my tracking pad instantly works.

I realize you already have your answer but since none of these things worked for me I thought I'd like my non-tech-saavy solution incase anyone comes across this thread looking for help.

ASUS Q405U 2 IN 1 LAPTOP - Mouse works - Touchpad doesn't - Mouse isn't in device manager

Mouse was not listed in my Device Manager & Touchpad was not listed under "All Settings" so I followed some of the instructions here:
- hold down WINDOWS key & the letter X
- select DEVICE MANAGER from the list
- click VIEW
- select SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES
My "Mice & Other Pointing Devices" is now listed here... yea!!! Part 1 done.

I looked under my ACTION CENTER (little cartoon "talk bubble" on right side of taskbar)
- click ALL SETTINGS
- Mouse is there but still no Touchpad

Restarted my computer, went back to ACTION CENTER
- click ALL SETTINGS
- tadaaaaa TOUCHPAD is finally there!
- click TOUCHPAD & turn it "on" !!

HI, why not try to check if there are updates on Windows 10? You are likely get the missing touch pad back alongside wite these updates. To complete this:
Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
