Solved! I dropped my lap top, it wouldn't turn on for 9 days, now it does but I don't know how I fixed it. Did my action truly fix it?

It is an HP ProBook x2 612 G1. It has a detachable touchscreen.

After I dropped it (while it was on) from about 5 feet onto a wood floor it immediately shut off. The fall chipped off part of the corner of the back cover of the display. For ten days after I broke it nothing would happen when I slid the power button on. The power button doesn't appear to be damaged but it is very close to the chipped-off area, as you can see in the pics.

After 10 days I googled some, then decided 'what the hell,' took a sleep-deprived risk, took the back cover off, and just recklessly, randomly started pressing down on lots of different computer components that I saw because I assumed the lap top was broken and not worth it to repair so it didn't matter if I messed it up further. I thought maybe something was just knocked loose or disconnected a little bit. I also squeezed together really hard the corner that was chipped. Before taking the cover off I had squeezed and applied pressure to that part many times and it never fixed the problem. Surprisingly, this time it worked and it turned on when I slid the power button on after I snapped the cover back on.

The screen is not even cracked and everything works. Before this I had tried to turn the power on dozens of times and it never would turn on. Now the power button has worked two times in a row but I'm wary of using it too much because maybe it's on the verge of not working again if the parts have come apart a little.

I'm worried that it's too good to be true and that I didn't truly fix it and that parts are still too loose or damaged. Is there anything I should do (besides backing up data very frequently) to make sure I have truly solved the problem? I am planning to superglue the piece that fell off so that corner is not exposed anymore.

WHile you are probably happy that you've "fixed" it, I would recommend using the chance to copy all important data to external / cloud storage. You don't know how much life you've brought into that guy,
