Hello there, trying to buy a decent laptop for my son, below $300. He basically wants one to play games that he can't play on xbox. What specifications does a laptop need for that kind of lightweight gaming? Thank you
The best you are going to get is the following laptop with a Core i3-6100u and Intel HD 520 graphics core for $286. It should be "okay" to play those games. I recommend you install a 2nd stick of 4GB RAM. That would improve overall performance because when Windows runs out of RAM it starts swapping data to the hard drive. The difference is not day & night, but it is a general improvement. Additionally, it can improve game performance by around 10% to 15% because when there is only one stick of RAM it operates at half speed where as with two sticks of RAM, they operate at full speed.
