Solution
1. Just like a desktop, the best laptop is one you build yourself ... tho in the lappies' case, the one you have custom built to your specifications.

2. Just about every vendor you can name doesn't actually "make" a laptop.

3. We use Clevo laptops exclusively, each one made to our specific needs and usage.

Try to check the MSI GT70 Dominator-895 9S7-1763A2-895 17.3-Inch Laptop with nvidia 870m . It has good reviews. Costing 1300 dollars. Or check more options from this site http://www.laptopsspot.com/best-gaming-laptops-under-1500/best-17-inch-gaming-laptop-under-1500/

I would recommend a newer model of the MSI computer as the model you listed is 3 years old. the models with the 970m can be had for that price. I still don't know that I would recommend it. I would have recommended another msi but the release 1050 and 1050ti increased the price of 1060 laptops above $1500.

@snurps suggestion If you go with build I'd save some cash and get a cheaper hard drive as the benefits of the pro are not worth the extra cost in a laptop of this price range. The other challenge of this laptop is that it is 17.7" this makes finding backpacks a little more challenging.

@ JackNaylorPE The build he suggested is pretty good, there are 2 things I would warn you about though, Keep in mind his build does not include an OS, secondly sometimes there are difficulties processing cash payments with computer sites, this can lead to delays, and challenges dealing with your bank ect. I still would recommend paying the extra 3.1% to potentially save yourself some hassle. The total with OS is Price: $1,549.00 before any discounts, (cash, student or military).
