Hello, I recently posted a thread which called out support for my crashing ASUS laptop. For those who have not red it: http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-3272900/asus-laptop-crashing.html#19019805

In this post I mentioned that when it crashes, it plays a dangerous game with my sanity. Today at 11-1-2017 I just completely snapped and at medium force smashed my fist into the keyboard. The 3rd hit was the hit that was just enough force and the screen made a strange static effect and went black with some colored stripes, rainbow colored. There were two ontop of the scream and I bursted out in tears. Then I restarted the laptop and the screen had no damage whatsoever, and it no longer had those effects. After waiting, of course, a BSOD came. Here's the code: UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME. Please help, I've been crying for like 1 hour now...

Your HDD is dead. These things don't like shocks.
If you are an angry gamer, you should probably get a small SSD. It's a static hard drive that supports shocks.

What antonie said, or more than likely you possibly broke the MB connections themselves to the HD. (as the HD itself will take more abuse to fully break than the MB connectors for it).
Which means your out of luck usually. Those CAN be repaired but its expensive as its usually a full board replacement.
Perhaps take the money you was going to spend to fix it, and take anger management classes? As punching a laptop over simple hardware issues seems to be a bit going overboard.

Hell, he should probably invest in anger management classes/heavy meds, LOL...

That laptop should have been in warranty, did you contact ASUS for the crashing issue? Or try a clean Windows setup? You may be stuck now with buying a new hard drive and doing a clean Windows setup even if you did not do one already.

Hang-the-nine, I've contacted ASUS about 4 times and the last time they told me to create a new windows img file on a disk on another computer. Since my laptop crashed half way trough the upgrade. Anyhow, how much is a new hard drive and will I lose all my files on the harddrive? What really freaking sucks is that it is a school computer too, and I am a disk jockey so I have about 300 files of music on my laptop.. thanks for your help

captaincharisma, I have been trough alot these days, new school, new home, and I never broke a PC before. Then there is ofcourse depression which also ofcourse has to be killing me, I am not an angry gamer since it was the laptop it self that keeps causing the anger, and I am not that of a gamer since I dont really game that much anymore (satellite crap internet) and I guess my mind couldn't really take it anymore..

Getting a new hard drive would be none of your files would be transferred over, and if the old HDD is completely dead there is no way to recover the data. Pricing depends on capacity and if its a HDD or SSD.
Heres some info about the BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO error
http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-3127605/fix-windows-bad-system-config-info-error.html
Looks like it can have to do with a corrupt or damaged disk, but if you are getting that far it looks like your disk is working a little bit.

Just got notified the hard drive is broken. Sucks. All my files will be gone. Sorry for bumping. Just wanna notify what happend. It'll be fixed and a new hard drive will be placed. If this crash issue continues I will return it to the store instead of raging. Lol.
Hope to see my laptop alive and function next Monday, if not later this week. Thanks for the support.
