I'd like to use Chromecast to watch Netflix wirelessly on a computer monitor. I do not own a TV, but I do have a computer monitor with HDMI ports. I'll need to connect an existing set of bookshelf speakers to the monitor for audio.
At the same time, I'd like to connect the same set of speakers to a Chromecast Audio device so that I can stream music from Spotify. I'll need both CC and CC Audio because I want to group the CC Audio with another CC Audio connected to different speakers in an adjacent room. Here's how I'm thinking of proceeding:
1. Connect the monitor's HDMI ports to a converter like this one: https/www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BIQER0E/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2IX3RNQE846HA
2. Plug Chromecast into the converter
3. Run an RCA-to-3.5mm audio cable from the RCA outputs to a mixer like this one: https/www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00102VV46/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
4. Connect Chromecast Audio to one of the other inputs on that mixer
5. Run an RCA-to-3.5mm audio cable from the mixer to my speakers (the mixer has a 3.5mm output and my speakers are RCA)
6. Play music and movies wirelessly as desired using above setup
Is this going to work, or are there too many points of potential failure for it to be viable?
Also: Is there a much easier way of achieving the stated objective? Much appreciative of your help!
