Hi everyone,

I have a 3 year old Lenovo U430P Intel i7-4500U. It's still working well, but the performance and battery life is not as good as i would like it to be. (i do a lot of graphic intensive work and work on the go a lot) I have a new PC coming in so i want to turn this laptop into a desktop.

I have already taken out the cooling fan and am using my own cooling fans (it's been quite efficient so far). Embarrassingly enough i'm currently housing all the circuit boards in a shoe box ...

I'm looking for solutions to the following:
1: a slim housing unit
2. reconnect the LCD panel to another monitor (See picture A&B)
3. Upgrade USB2.0 to USB 3.0 including SD card slot (not the motherboard port - see Picture C)
4. Extra SSD/HDD slots (if possible - my current disk is a SSHD)
5. Upgrade wireless card ( see picture D)

I do wonder whether it is impractical, but for now I just want to see what's good or not.

I appreciate it very very much if you have made it this far, thank you so much, i know it's a lot to ask...

Thanks everybody !!

Yes, that is all very, very impractical.

The motherboard is the main limiting factor.

You can't just 'add' extra SATA ports.
You can't upgrade the USB 2.0 to 3.0
Changing the WiFi subsystem probably won't gain anything.
You're stuck with the original CPU and GPU.
