Do you have any other remotes in your house that are universal, in that they can control other devices.. like a direct tv remote, perhaps a smart phone or tablet that has an IR thingy on it?

Model is 49L621U, it got reset by my dad who held the power button too long. Thats the only button on it, and you cannot control anything with it, because its in the starting set up mode. I just ended up ordering the same remote on amazon, because i dont even know if a universal one will program unless the tv is atleast set up. Toshiba removed their telephone service through the phone for some odd reason...

I have a DirecTV remote, and it was what i used to control the TV. But since it was reset its not formatted with that anymore, and the only manual control is the power button which cant control anything unlike the samsung sony button that moves left right up and down.

It sounds like you reset your DirecTV remote, not your TV.

Use DirecTV's remote setup site to reprogram your remote to work with your TV again.

No, its the tv 100%. When the tv is started its at the factory start up when you first get the TV
