Hello there. I have an LG 55UF680T TV with ARC support on HDMI 2. I was wondering if I could extract the audio out using an audio extractor box or using a HDMI to RCA cable.

Thanks :)

Solution
You cannot use an HDMI to RCA cable. That doesn't work on anything but oddball gear. You can use an HDMI ARC audio extractor like this one
https://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Extractor-Support-Converter-VHD-H2HARC/dp/B00LKF6CPG
You can also use the digital optical audio output with one of these
http://www.parts-express.com/parts-express-dac-digital-to-analog-converter-(51-compatible)--180-999
This way you don't lose an HDMI input.
You will have to turn ARC or the optical output on, maybe turn the TV speakers off and change the audio output type in the TV menu to get it to work.

I just purchased this adapter to use with my Samsung KU6300 and wasn't able to extract any audio. I've selected PCM as the HDMI audio, made sure the proper sound source was selected in TV, plugged a HDMI 1.4 audio cable into the HDMI ACR port, powered up the extractor, made sure the ACR button was selected on the audio extractor, moved the indicator switch to 2 channel, then attempted to go out through the RCA to my Klipsch 2.1 speakers. No luck. Any other thoughts?
