My headphones have a built in MiC but it doesn't work

I have a microphone built within the head phones and i have a single jock so it can go to my laptop but my laptop only can find my Headphones and doesn't say i have my microphone installed. So i cant use my Microphone at all (this microphone also does not show)

Phones use a combined jack for both headphones and microphone. Many laptops don't have this combined jack. They use separate headphone and mic jacks or a single jack that can be only one or the other.
