SSD Migration Signature Collision boot problem

I have an asus rog gl552vw. Purchased a Samsung evo M.2 card. Installed and used the Samsung migration utility to copy the entire HDD over to the SSD. If I remove the HDD, the SSD boots into windows and runs fine. If I leave the HDD in (still in the same state as when I ran the mig) no matter what I tell the bios to do, it loads off the HDD. Any suggestions for fixing this?

As a side note, when in Windows on the HDD the new SSD shows as offline and having a signature collision in disc manager.

If I could get into the SSD version with both plugged in I would gladly wipe the original HDD, just haven't been able to force the SSD to load when the HDD is also installed. So saving the data on that drive is not important.

Thanks ahead of time!

Assuming the system actually works with only the SSD connected (and it appears it does):
Obtain a USB dock
Power up the system
After it is running, connect that USB dock with the old HDD in it
Wipe the HDD completely.
