My Logitech z506 speakers are having trouble functioning properly. I just purchased them I'm hoping less than 30 days ago. I have Realtek Audio Manager set to 5.1. My side speakers will not make a sound. The front 2 speakers and my center speaker work fine, and on the Realtek 5.1 test all comes on including sub, instead of the two "side speakers" - which I thought were rear speakers.....

I've tried putting it on 7.1 and of course that makes no difference.

I desperately need advice on how to go about finding the solution to this, because I have no clue!! Help, as soon as you can, because if I can't figure this out tonight I have to take them back which is unnecessary because I'm positive they work. This must be some kind of software problem that I need to correct, I just don't know what to do. Please provide detailed instrutions. ***Will be greatly appreciated****

Help Please.......... No clue what to do!& have searched with no luck...... Please Experts Help.

Solution
Try firstly connecting the rear input to the green port on the board and see if rear speakers do work as "front"
This way, you'd check if connections and speakers do work.
