Lenovo Y580 Notebook will not turn back on, just a blank screen and the computer restarts every 3-4 seconds, does not post. No previous symptoms. I tried both sticks of ram individually and removed the hard drive and it does the exact same thing. Could both sticks have died at the same time or is it more likely a MB issue? Each attempted boot lights up the power button, keyboard backlight and spins the DVD player before restarting. When both sticks of ram are out the computer stays on, no rebooting. Its DDR3 1600 ram, a 2 and a 4 gig stick, made by Ramaxel. No idea why Lenovo didn't install matching ram, has worked flawlessly for 4 years though.
Thanks

It may not be both RAM, but just one of them. You should try it with one in and one out. Also try switching which one is in which location. If in the end, none of that works, then I would really suggest buying new RAM.

Also, I agree that it is weird that it only has a 2 and a 4. That device was/is supposed to come with 8GB of RAM, so why does this one only have 6? Very strange.
