Issue started on Dec 13, screen was flickering as soon as I turned on the laptop and then would turn completely black. The power indicator light was on and when I plug the charger in, the battery charging light would turn on as well but screen is blank/black. I tried to reset several times and it would do the same thing - flicker on the onset and then turn completely black, but the power indicator light is on.

I tried to restart one more time and this time, tried to launch a browser in between the screen flickers before the screen went out. After the browser was launched, it worked fine the rest of the day, Dec 13 and the whole day after, Dec 14.

Today, Dec 15, it won't turn on at all. I've tried to turn it on without any connections and while connected to the charger. The charger indicator light is on but the power indicator light is not. Screen didn't even flicker at the start nor were there any of the usual starting / fan sounds that you normally hear when you turn it on.

I don’t think the batter is removable and the laptop is about a year 10 months old. No extended warranty.

Need help please!

Solution
Well, all of the batteries are removable, how easily is a whole other story. :)

It sounds a lot like the display was/is your problem. If that is the case, then when you thought it was off, it was probably on and drained the battery until dead.

To check it, try pulling the battery (carefully) and disconnect the charger cord. Then hold down the power button for about 30 seconds. Let it go and then put the battery back in (do not connect the power cord nor try to turn it on yet).

Next connected the charger cable to the laptop, while still turned off, and see if it indicates that it is charging. If yes, great. Leave it that way and off for a few hours. Yes I do mean hours. :)

Once the battery has had time to fully charge, and Leaving...

Once the battery has had time to fully charge, and Leaving the Laptop Turned Off, connect an external monitor to the laptop. Turn on the external monitor and then turn on the laptop.

If it is powering on, and the attached display is the problem, you should see your screens on the external monitor. If it powers on but still shows nothing on the external monitor either, then your graphics card/GPU is probably needing to be replaced (which may require the motherboard be replaced).
